The MINI MONITOR GTP-172 kit is used to examine contamination by particles in aviation fuel using the procedures described in ASTM D2276.

A measured volume of fuel is passed by tube through a 0.8 micron membrane. The plastic monitor that holds the membrane is placed in an aluminium case. The particles of colour that are trapped in the membrane can be examined using a gravimetric classifi cation or using colour standards.
